Ellis Island's 3 doors
From what I understood from the labels, people (including my grandfather) were assigned a place in one of 3 lines that would lead to these doors, depending on where they were going. One would lead to the US (a boat to NYC), another one would lead to more physical exams, the other one I forgot, but I don't think its the bathroom line. And to think that once upon a time my grandfather stood up there. I never met my grandfather, so visiting Ellis Island was a way of connecting with him somehow.

All by myself...
I am thinking that maybe a kid left this toy during rush hour, and then when I got to it, it was all alone. What happens to the things forgotten in the subway?

Cloud, moon and plane
Several times I go to athletic events just to take pictures to everything around it. This time the action was taking place in the sky while the FSU football team was in the field playing against some team. It was a wonderful afternoon with pink clouds when this airplane slowly came into the picture, leaving this white trail.

Fallout Shelter
Maybe it is just me, but in several buildings in New York City I have seen the fade out sign of Fallout Shelters. This one is actually in my building, but I haven't been able to see if this is False Advertisement or if the Laundry Room is now where the Shelter was once upon a time.

Tres tristes carros
I took this photo one day after leaving an arts supply store in Fort Lauderdale. I had to stop and take my camera out!

The day after our wedding we woke up early to catch a flight, and this is what welcomed us that morning! Glorious!

Stand Up for the Noles
I could never understand why in the student section of the Doak Campbell stadium, all Noles would stand up for the entire game. Yes, I am guilty of taking a break and sitting down for a while. Good legs y'all.

Rocks
One day we went to this event, they closed the roads and we had to sit in the pavement, which is full of rocks if you stop to look.

Fort Lauderdale Beach
I love walking the beach at night. This time, I looked back and loved the contrast of the light of the city and the incredibly dark sand, at that moment I decided to take this photo.

Empty Car
It takes exploring the city very late at night, and going to the end of the line to get a photo of an empty car of the NYC subway. There might be another chances to see this, but I grabbed this one!

Day...
In Tallahassee we used to have this homey townhome. In New York we managed to fit in an apartment, and I have no regrets... But I miss my Tallahassee house with the nice backyard and the lake 10 minutes away...

Mom and Grandmom
I took this photo a year ago on my birthday. We were cleaning after the party, well, they were.
My grandma passed away in April this year, and this photo taken without any pretention shows her like I remember. I miss her.

White shirts in the Bronx
I noticed that my neighbours do wash their clothes by colors. Somedays I see white stuff on their windows and other days I see colors... I love noticing this nuances.

Presidential Horse
And to continue on the Coney Island Carousel, I bring you the Presidential Horse. You clearly see the U.S. flag and the eagle flying low in what seems to me a hunting pose, there seems to be ribbons with stars and lines and an caucasian character, with glasses, white hair, looking very intellectual.

Wild Carousel
Actually, I took this photo pretty recent, about a couple of weeks ago. We went to Coney Island and I found interesting the drawings in the carousel. Each horse has a theme. The one that first caught my attention was the "American Horse", so I'll look for it for my post tomorrow. In this case, we are looking at the "native" horse, so to speak, with the toucan, the tiger, the necklace of what I assume are tiger teeth, the leopard and tiger prints, the rainforers flora and of course, the native himself. It was great to watch... Of course, I bored others with the speech, but you, you took the time to read this. You are special, you deserve your own carousel horse.

Atlanta Aquarium
We went to see the Tiger Whales at the Atlanta Aquarium and the place is just amazing... Here I just wanted to see how the waves and the water above him looked.

Reflection and grease
When travelling I usually like to see out of the window, and sometimes I noticed the effect of marks left by previous travellers on it. Here I can imagine that someone fall asleep agains the window, leaving a greasy mark on it (very human). So, in this photo the surface of the window complements the image on the outside.

FSU seminoles on break
In halftime, the girls in flames from FSU circus do these routines that are amazing. In the picture I managed to put together the football guys with the ball, and the final pose of the circus girl in one photo, and completely ignoring eachother.
